ABOUT NURRY: Nurry is an exceptional concert pianist who studied music at Wells Cathedral School before attending the Royal College of Music in London where she achieved a Master of Music in Performance. Nurry has also studied at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul, South Korea and has given concerts throughout the UK, Europe and other parts of the globe. She is currently working towards an International Artist Diploma at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Nurry began learning the piano at the age of six with her mother. She gained her 'Grade 8 Distinction' on both piano and violin when she was 11 years old. Wells Cathedral School is one of the premier music schools in the UK, where she attended with a full scholarship and specialist place to study under Head of Keyboard, Professor John Byrne. While studying at Wells she won the Concerto Competition with the Shostakovich Piano Concerto, working with conductors; Christopher Adey, Paul Denegrey and Dennis Simons. In late 2023 Nurry won first prize at the Piano House International Piano Competition in New York (Senior Category). Following this acheivement she made two appearances at the Carnie Hall in November 2023. (See first video below) She has played at many venues as a soloist, such as Bath Abbey, Bath Pump Rooms, Bristol's Colston Hall and has played for the Countess of Wessex. As well as solo work, she enjoys playing alongside other musicians and has collaborated with orchestras, choirs, big bands and chamber music. Nurry is a founding member of Trio Rouge, performing around London and in 2021 live on BBC Radio3 and The Buxton International Music Festival.

CONVERSATIONS WITH
NURRY: Nurry collaborates with The Piano Shop, Bath by regularly reviewing their premier pianos (Steinway, Bosendorfer, Bluthner, Bechstein, Yamaha, Kawai) and videoing her performances, which are displayed with the appropriate pianos. The collaboration with Nurry led to a series of conversations on the many aspects of Nurry's experience as a concert pianist.

Nurry's experience has led her to work alongside some of the greatest musicians, including the Harlem Quartet from the USA, Trio Apaches and Alina Ibragimova. As a soloist, Nurry has performed internationally and around the UK, with concerts in Europe, America, Asia and West Africa. She won the keyboard section of the Gregynog Young Musician of the Year, the RCM Concerto Competition and won first prize in many competitions including, Eistedford competition, Midsommer Festival, European Piano Teachers Association Competition, Rotary Competition, Longwell Green Competition. At the Royal College of Music, she studied with the deputy Head of Keyboard, Ian Jones.

TRIO ROUGE: As a concert pianist, Nurry has to wear many hats, sometimes as a soloist, occasionally with an orchestra or best of all, with her ex-fellow students and now great friends, who perform as Trio Rouge. During mid-July 2021, Nurry (piano), Sophie-Louise Phillips (violin) and Meera Priyanka Raja (cello) were given the opportunity to perform live on BBC Radio 3’s early evening programme - “In Tune” - with presenter Sean Rafferty.
